The ranking is for HS chapter 08, which holds all edible fruit and nuts. Headings in scope include cashews, coconuts and Brazil nuts, other nuts, dates and figs, grapes fresh or dried, and mixed dried fruit. Fresh fruit is inside the same chapter, so a country’s value may come mainly from grapes, avocados or mangoes rather than almonds or raisins.
For a dry fruit buyer that is the major limitation: the table works better as a map of fruit and nut trade in general than as a ranking of dry products.
The United States is first at $16.4B, then Spain at $11.2B, Mexico at $9.5B and Chile at $9.3B. The Netherlands ($8.8B) and China ($7.2B) follow, and the last four places, Vietnam, Thailand, Peru and Turkey, sit between $7.0B and $6.3B. The ten hold 57.4% of the value declared by the 96 markets, one of the less concentrated lists among staple commodities.
Vietnam’s figure is for 2023, while the others are 2024, because it is that reporter’s latest available year. A country reporting an older year can be slightly out of step with the rest.
Decide which product you actually want, whether cashews, other nuts, dates, dried grapes or mixed dried fruit, and search shipment records for that heading in the candidate origin. Exporter names, destinations, declared values and quantities will show who really ships it.
Ask for grade, moisture, sorting standard and packing, and check the destination’s current food-safety, aflatoxin-related and labelling requirements before agreeing terms. The free marketplace on this site can surface sellers who state their offer directly. Re-exports through trading hubs can inflate some rows, so confirm the origin of the goods.
